ON EXHIBIT IN MAIN GALLERY

The new exhibit at Sugar Creek Art Center in Thorntown, IN this month will be showing casing artist, Brenda Daly, of Bringhurst, IN.
Brenda is noted for her many murals she has painted in and around central Indiana. Her works can be seen in such towns as Rossville, West Lafayette, Flora, Broad Ripple and the city of Indianapolis. She paints landscapes, people, children, city park scenes and past historical events that depict the area she is painting for. She has painted many scenes of Purdue University for the area surrounding the main campus in West Lafayette, IN. which was commissioned work by Purdue. In 1991 Brenda won the Indianapolis City Beautification Award for her mural depicting seven life-sized figures in various sporting events which appears on two exterior walls of the cities recreational center in downtown Indianapolis.
Brenda has painted many theatrical sets around the area including a beautiful scene for the Purdue Hall of Music on the campus at West Lafayette. She was the set designer for Martin University’s madrigal production in 1991. Along with these many contributions Brenda did two commissioned paintings for Dr. George Lewis of The Indiana Center for Corrections and Development that are used at the center as therapeutic aids for their inhabitants.
In addition she teaches classes at the Flora Public Library in Flora, IN and she gives private art lessons to those seeking instructions to further their own artistic skills.
Please come to the Sugar Creek Art Center and see this beautiful exhibit that will be on display during the month of Sept. There will be a reception honoring Ms. Daly on Sept. 9, 2011 at the Culture at the Creek event from 6-9:00 pm. Music will be provided for your enjoyment and Poe’s Country Garden Catering will be serving food at a very reasonable cost in the newly remodeled Banquet/Event’s facility.
